NY times has a great section on Home and Garden. I often visit the website to check out the slideshows. Today I found an interesting slideshow of a 110-foot-long traditional house, built by John Hardy, a jewelry designer, and his wife, Cynthia, in Bali, Indonesia. I admire almost any architectural design where the nature plays a predominant role. In this jungle dream house, I like the way the owners have created a rustic atmosphere. There are structural and may be decorative posts in the shape of a tree trunk that supports the building. The timber construction and the materials of wood, bamboo on the floors and ceiling evokes an organic feeling to the house. The bright colors of Orange, Yellow adds a touch of elegance to this interior setting. I also like the fact that there are no windows. The entire floor is open to the outdoors. What a scintillating experience it would be to actually live in this jungle home eh??
